You know what I love more than anything else? Truly educating people on what is right nutrition wise. After many exhaustive studies have been performed throughout the 2011 year the results are in and the best known protein supplement is of course none other than whey protein powder. (Applause!)
However, not all whey protein powder is the same, which you will read about later in this article, but let me first get into some research and well respected nutritionists that have proven and rated whey to be the most elite protein in the world.
-Bodybuilding.com
-Jonny Bowden – PhD/Certified Nutrition Science’s (The Rogue Nutritionist)
-Mike Geary – Certified Trainer/Certified Nutritionist (Author of the Best-Selling Book Truth About Abs
- Over 500,000 copies sold worldwide
-Isabel del la Rios – Personal Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach
-GNC (although their whey proteins are so highly processed I don’t even take their recommendations)
-and a slew of others but these are some of the best in the business when it comes to nutrition both online and offline.
Now you may be thinking, “Great now that I know this I’ll just go ahead and purchase some!”
Not so fast!
Remember when I said not all whey proteins are the same? Well you want to first make sure you find out a few factors first before choosing your health supplement because you might be doing something counterproductive.
The one thing all these nutritionists above me, mainly Isabel, Mike, and Jerry have in common with myself is we are all experts on whey proteins and weight loss. You first want to find out if your protein is grass fed whey protein powder. This is so important so please listen & keep reading!!!

Here is something important for you to consider:
Would you ever want to eat a fish that was fed grains instead of smaller fish or their natural diet of plankton?
Well everytime you opt for farm-raised fish you are doing just that. What kind of nutritional value do you think these fish have after eating a modified unnatural diet?
If you said, hardly any then you’re absolutely right. This is why everyone raves about wild-caught fish and their high omega-3 counts! Well the same is true for cattle.
Do you want to eat meat or drink dairy that comes from a cow that is fed on unnatural grains and corn, 90% of which is genetically modified (GM) and then sprayed with toxins and pesticides? Unless you’re out of your mind you probably said, “No Way!”
But wait there’s more!
These cows are so malnourished that they are they injected with steroids, growth hormones or what is known as rGBH, and antibiotics to kill any disease they might have accrued.
What’s worse is that these malnourished grain fed cows are then producing the (brace yourself) puss filled milk that then has to get pasteurized so it doesn’t contain harmful bacteria. This is also the milk you get from the grocery store and if you are getting this stuff stop immediately.
You want to go for raw milk so search for that online. The best nutritionists in the world do this. Now on a side note you might see people saying, “It has to be pasteurized! What about the bacteria?!” Simply put grass fed cows, and now you need to look for grass-finished cows (those graze on pesticide free grass until they die) don’t have bacteria formed in their milk. They are healthy happy cows! In fact the only bacteria raw milk contains is healthy bacteria that goes in your stomach.
Side note: You know how your doctor tells you that when you take antibiotics, which kill the bacteria (both good and bad) in your stomach, to have yogurt because it contains live active “good” bacterial colonies in it. Well raw milk (which is before it turns to whey) contains over 110 active bacterial colonies. Yogurt contains 4-6. I mean plain Greek yogurt because those dannon and Yoplait’s are super high in sugar and a lot of times soy lecithin.
But back to the issue at hand which is whey protein. After you understand that you need to find grass-fed cows you then want to look for an undenatured whey protein powder. This simply means that it is cold processed or heated at lower temperatures. While every protein is heated up and dried, over 90% you will see in stores is so highly heated that all the essential enzymes are killed off. In addition to lots of vitamins, and minerals.
Those enzymes are what make whey protein so beneficial!!! And you are losing those! So what are you paying for?
The most delicate enzymes cannot withstand more than approximately 118 degrees and cold processing takes it usually to 130-135 degrees which actually keeps most of them in tact. Far more than ultra high heat whey proteins.
So again these are the main factors you really do want to consider when it comes to choosing a whey protein. I know it seems like a lot to know and understand but reading this might have saved your life. Here’s why:
Did you know that whey protein was used even before Christ was born. It’s absolutely true. Although up until recently we have found that whey protein could be processed in powder form, Hippocrates (460-370 B.C), a Greek physician and known to the world as the original “Father of Medicine” used to give liquid whey protein to people because of its immaculate health benefits. After all it is now considered to be so well rounded nutritionally that it is a superfood.
A few more incredible facts I want to share with you are that there are 22 essential amino acids of which 9 are known as branch chain amino acids, or BCAA’s, because your body can’t produce those and they have to be ingested in the food you eat. These are the essential building blocks of your entire body.
Good News! Whey protein from grass fed cows contains all 9 branch chain amino acids! Hence another reason why this is known as the best protein on the planet.
Because as stated before not all whey proteins are the same I want to offer you my personal favorite whey protein concentrate, this is the one I take and it is the highest rated protein in the world.
However, if you have a serious case of lactose intolerance then I would recommend my favorite whey protein isolate, which is processed more so it loses more overall value but it is still from the same cows that produce this superfood.
If I were you I would stick to the whey concentrate first because while it contains less protein, it contains more superfood qualities and higher amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants to help build your immune system and overall health.
Follow the serving size and you will notice that your appetite will be suppressed from the protein and healthy calories so you won’t eat as many bad calories which are what cause the weight gain to form in your fat cells.
Well that’s it for now. Feel free to like this page and share it with your friends.
